HEALTHY HIKE--RAINY DAYS DO NOT KEEP US DOWN!!!--April 29th

Here we go hiking through the halls, through the halls, through the halls. . . Look at those kids JUMP!!!!

Ice Cream makes everyone smile!

Well, it rained and it rained- - - - but we hiked in the hall! We jumped rope in the halls, and later we hiked downtown for ice cream! It couldn't have been a better day! Now, we are getting down to the wire--only one more day of Healthy Hiking! We are having so much FUN!!!!!

Today we played kickball with the fifth graders! We also read with them. This Healthy Hike justs gets better and better.

HEALTHY HIKE--THURSDAY, APRIL 23

Today was FAMILY HIKE DAY. We gathered outside by the school and walked across the street to the park where we met our parents, sisters and brothers, babysitters, or grandparents. It was a great day for a walk. After we walked, we got to read in the park. We couldn't ask for anything better!

HEALTHY HIKE--TUESDAY APRIL 21st

Well, we made it to another day and more activites. We read and listening to reading during lunch hour. Then we had two very special guests. Pastor Baker and Pastor Bunge read to us today. We also took a hike in the park! We are really working and working hard!!!!

It's great to share a book with a friend!

Today we hiked to the library. It was the windiest day yet! We received some prizes for Healthy Hike Bingo. We also read with the fourth graders later in the day! This has been a great day for reading and moving!!!!! We enjoyed a strenuous game of kickball!!!

HEALTHY HIKE --APRIL 16th

Today we went to the nursing home. We exercised with the residents and then shared poetry books with them. We had a great time moving and reading.

This book is pretty good!

There is always a place and a time to read! We can't wait to find out what happens next!

Hiking through the park in Hawarden.

It was so nice out that we didn't jackets --just our water bottles for refreshment.

All the third graders were back in action today after the Easter break. We hiked to the library this morning. We checked out books, did a little reading, and some of us had earned prizes playing HEALTHY HIKE BINGO. In fact, some kids had their cards filled and were able to move up a level on a card! WAY TO GO !!

In the afternoon, we grabbed our water bottles, filled them with water, and hiked through the park. It was an awesome day! The temps were in the 60's. We are ready to move and to read!

Can't wait to find out how we are doing!

HEALTHY HIKE--APRIL 9th READING IN THE PARK

Well, we hiked to the park today! We are getting to know that place pretty well. We can make it around the park in less time each time we go! It was really fun reading in the park. Everyone enjoyed it. Now, we will be on our own for a few days while we enjoy our Easter break. Everyone --REMEMBER TO KEEP MOVING and KEEP READING!

Special congratulations to the kids who have already completed their HEALTHY HIKE BINGO CARD at the Hawarden Library. Another card will be ready for you on Tuesday, April 14th.
